Amazon Flooded Forest

At the Amazon Flooded Forest, you will discover a number of creatures such as the arapaima, manatee, electric eel, and red-tailed catfish. However, perhaps the most interesting of them all are the giant river otters that are being displayed for the first time in Asia. You are welcome to take a peek at Chico and Carla, the in-house otters through the viewing tunnel.

Congo River

One of the oldest lakes in all of Africa, Lake Tanganyika flows into the Congo Basin and is home to a number of unique creatures like the Congo tetras, and the African dwarf crocodile. A visit to this zone will give you an opportunity to witness one of the most diverse freshwater ecosystems in the world.

Ganges River

The fish-eating Indian gharial, the flesh-eating goonch catfish and the frog-faced softshell turtle - the Ganges River zone is full of such exotic South-Asian species. Here, you will get to learn all about their habitat, lifestyle and ecosystem.

Giant Panda Forest

Visit Kai Kai and Jia Jia, the in-house pandas in their natural habitat. They live in a climate-controlled specially constructed structure that has everything from waterfalls to climbing structures. Visitors can observe these friendly creatures and can even watch them being fed.

Mary River

Did you know? The Australian lungfish can survive in stagnant water by storing air in its swim bladder that also acts as its lung. To learn more about the Australian lungfish and many others, head over to the Mary River zone. Here you will find the archfish and the mudskipper as well.

Mekong River

One of the largest exhibits at River Wonders Singapore, the Mekong River zone introduces you to freshwater giants like the Mekong giant catfish. Since it is home to some of the largest freshwater animal species, you will come across creatures like painted stork, high fin catfish, and giant stingray.

Nile River

Experience yourself travelling back in time to ancient Egypt with the Nile River exhibit. You will come across a wealth of fascinating as well as savage creatures like the African arrowana, the carnivorous bichir, and the scaleless giraffe catfish. Witness these predatory fish living in harmony inside the same tank!

River Gems

  Perhaps one of the most colourful exhibits that you will come across at River Wonders Singapore, the River Gems zone introduces you to the large variety of freshwater plants and animals. Catch glimpses of the pearl gourami and pearl danio as you walk past the first exhibit.

'Wild Amazonia

Consisting of the Amazon Flooded Forest, the Squirrel Monkey Forest, and the Amazon River Quest, this zone will take you up close and personal to the Amazon Basin. Discover the wonders of the Amazon and feast your eyes on some of Amazon’s most unique creatures.

Yangtze River

The river panda, red panda, golden monkey, and the yangtze sturgeon- the Yangtze river supports a thriving ecosystem. However, the most fascination and perhaps the most loved of them all is the giant panda. You will get to meet them all at the Yangtze river zone.

Alligator Snapping Turtle

These freshwater inhabitants live upto 70 years and are primarily found in the USA. You can identify them from the three rows of cone-shaped structures on their shell. And for this reason, they are called the dinosaurs of the turtle world.

Chinese Giant Salamanders

Mostly found in the tributaries of China, these creatures absorb oxygen through their skin. Therefore, it is not surprising that they require clean water to survive. Interestingly, their origins can be traced back to almost 350 million years ago.

Electric Eel

Did you know? The electric eel stuns its enemies by producing upto 800 volts of electricity, which is considered enough to kill a human being. You can find them at the Amazon Flooded Forest.

Giant Freshwater Stingray

Almost nothing is known about these freshwater giants. They are as big as they are elusive. They are said to grow as tall as 5m and weigh up to 600kg. They were first discovered in 1990.

Giant Panda

River Wonders Singapore houses two giant pandas - Kai Kai and Jia Jia. They are currently on a 10-year loan from China. These friendly creatures are very popular among visitors.

Giant River Otter

Mostly found in the large, slow-moving rivers of South America, the Giant River Otter move in groups. Keep a look out for Chico and Carla, the in-house otters on your visit.

Goliath Tigerfish

As the name suggests, the Goliath tigerfish is the largest among all of its counterparts. It is said that they are some of the few fishes that do not fear crocodiles!

Green Anaconda

The world’s heaviest snake, the anaconda, can be found in South American swamps and marshes. The largest one to be found was 227 kg!

Indian Gharial

Once found in abundance in the rivers of Pakistan and Myanmar, these freshwater inhabitants are on the verge of extinction. Today, there are less than 200 gharials left.

Manatee

Head over to the Amazon Flooded Forest to meet Eva, the largest manatee of River Wonders Singapore. There are two more manatees at the park - Pedro and Canola.

Mekong Giant Catfish

Native to the Mekong River Basin, these freshwater dwellers are named after their whisker-like barbells. You will find three of them in the park. You can find them in the Mekong River zone.

Red Panda

Head over to the Giant Panda Forest or the Yangtze River zone to find out more about these adorable creatures. They feed on bamboo, fruits, insects, and roots and can live up to 22 years.

Red-Bellied Piranha

Did you know? A piranhas’s teeth are sharper than even that of sharks! In fact, locals often use them as tools to sharpen wood and other objects. Head over to the Amazon Flooded Forest to learn more.

Squirrel Monkey

Pay a visit to the Squirrel Monkey Forest to observe them in their natural habitat. You might catch them feeding on carrots, almonds and sweet potatoes or you may see them swinging from the railings.

Sturgeon

One of the most threatened animals in the world, sturgeons can be found both in Asia and North America. They have poor eye sights and depend on their barbels for food.

Yangtze Alligator

Unlike its American counterpart, the Yangtze alligator is covered in hard scales and is relatively small at 1.8 - 2.2m. They can live up to 70 years and can be found in wetlands and swamps.
